Stone quarried in Turkey and milled in China is used in the higher traffic areas of the temple, including the entries, baptistry, and grand staircase. The principal colors are Burder Grey and Burder Blanco, incorporating a stone tile inlaid leaf pattern in hues of green. The Taylorsville Utah Temple is scheduled for its dedication on June 2, with the Layton temple becoming the 22nd dedicated house of the Lord in Utah following its June 16 dedication and the Church’s 195th worldwide. LAYTON, Utah — More than five years after the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the construction of a temple in Layton, dates for public tours and a dedication ceremony have been announced. The three-story temple with twin towers is a steel-frame structure with cast-in-place concrete shear walls, precast exterior concrete panels and repeated, arched windows. The architectural style is European art nouveau or “secessionism architecture” that features organic shapes, floral and foliage motifs, and curving lines.

Floral patterns in gold and beige accent the walls of the various ordinance rooms, while the ceilings are accentuated with floral patterns, curving lines, and gold leafed molding surrounding the chandeliers. Area Rugs in the entries, baptistry, and bride’s room include custom pieces manufactured by Rugs International of the USA and milled in China. They also reflect an Art Nouveau style, incorporating vibrant colors and stylized organic flowers and foliage reminiscent of the motifs found throughout the temple. Other houses of the Lord under construction in Utah are the Deseret Peak, Ephraim, Heber Valley, Lindon, Smithfield and Syracuse temples. Two additional temples in the state — for West Jordan and Lehi — were among the 15 new locations announced by President Nelson on Sunday, April 7.

Doors have been stained to match, and decorative carvings enhance the casings above the doors leading to ordinance spaces. The millwork for the skylight in the Celestial Room was crafted by Masterpiece Mill of Lindon and is consistent in its Art Nouveau style. The Layton Utah Temple will be constructed on the site of an 11.8-acre pasture at the corner of Oak Hills Drive and Rosewood Lane on the southeast side of Layton.

The property was acquired by the Church on Friday, March 30, 2018—two days before the temple was announced. Carpeting is in hues of cream, gold and green, with area rugs in the entries, baptistry and brides’ room reflecting the colors and organic flowers and foliage designs from throughout the temple. President Russell M. Nelson announced a temple for Layton, Utah, on Sunday, April 1, 2018, one of the seven temples announced at the concluding session of the April 2018 general conference. The seven were the first President Nelson announced after becoming President of the Church in January of that year. On Tuesday, April 9, the Taylorsville Utah Temple hosted its media-day event, beginning its open-house phase of nearly six full weeks. The Salt Lake and Manti temples are under renovation, along with the reconstruction of the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple.

Once the temple is formally dedicated, entrance is reserved for faithful Church members. The interior art glass matches the exterior with designs showing stylized seedings, blossoms and leafy branches of fruit trees. However, the interior glass is simplified with an etched design instead of colored glass. Stylized seedlings, blossoms and leafy branches are highlighted in the art glass — as colored glass in the exterior windows and as etched designs in the interior art glass. The plaza at the west entry consists of mixed concrete and stone pavers, with stone steps leading to the entrance.

Open house runs August 29 through September 14, 2024, excluding Sundays. President Nelson counseled members at that time to set aside other things to spend more time in the temple. The location of the Antananarivo Madagascar Temple has been announced. It will be built on a 9.8-acre site located at Fokontany Andranoro, Ambohibao, Antehiroka, Andranomena, Madagascar. The Church of Jesus Christ announced that the groundbreaking for the Knoxville Tennessee Temple will take place on Jan. 27, 2024. Elder Shayne M. Bowen, first counselor in the North America Southeast Area Presidency, will preside at the groundbreaking.

The public open house will run from Friday, April 19, through Saturday, June 1, excluding Sundays. Latter-day Saint temples are a sacred place for Church members to visit and make sacred promises with God, like keep His commandments or marriage promises. The Church previously announced the temple, which was announced in April 2018 by Church President Russell M. Nelson, will be built at the corner of Oak Hills Drive and Rosewood Lane.

Media attended a news conference and toured the new house of the Lord on Monday, April 15, 2024. In addition to the restored but original Tiffany art glass window “The Resurrection,” there are seven other original works of art found in the temple. Some are older paintings from the Church’s art collection, and others were commissioned specifically for the Layton Temple.

Design patterns in the pavers reflect those from the large entry windows. The bridal plaza on the north side of the temple sits recessed from the parking entrance to provide a welcoming location for visitors and wedding parties to gather. The fence surrounding the grounds is composed of a decorative steel Ameristar fence with precast concrete pilasters provided by Brailsford Cast Stone, of Springville, UT.

The release of the rendering comes as project leaders are preparing to file additional public documents relating to plans for the temple’s design. An exterior rendering has been released showing the planned design of the Layton Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Layton temple is one of 28 temples in Utah — including those that are announced, under construction or operating. "Eventual exaltation requires our complete fidelity now to covenants we make and ordinances we receive in the house of the Lord," he told members in that talk. LAYTON — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced dates for the dedication and open house of the Layton Utah Temple on Monday. The newest Utah temple is located at 1400 Oak Hills Drive and was announced during the April 2018 General Conference of the church.

A temple is considered a house of the Lord, where the teachings of Jesus Christ are reaffirmed through marriage, baptism and other sacred agreements that unite families for eternity. The decorative fixtures in the ordinance rooms create a lovely warm and bright and inviting light, which helps to elevate the reverent and inspiring feel of these spaces. The fountain on the west terrace of the temple mimics the temple’s outer window structure with rounded ends. Clad in beige granite, its tiered basins provide movement and sound as the water cascades down from the holding pool.

Once the temple is formally dedicated, entrance is reserved for faithful Church members. Abundant Planting Underway at the Layton Utah Temple Site

The Layton Utah Temple is one of the Church of Jesus Christ’s 30 houses of the Lord dedicated or under construction or renovation in Utah. A small group of Latter-day Saints gathered at the site of the Layton temple for a groundbreaking ceremony on May 23, 2020, amid local COVID-19 restrictions. There is no cost to attend the Layton Utah Temple public open house. Reservations to walk through the house of the Lord can be made online. The open house for the Layton Utah Temple will be one of two temple open houses underway in northern Utah. The open house for the Taylorsville Utah Temple runs through Saturday, May 18.

The temple’s open house will take place prior to the dedication from April 19 to June 1, 2024, throughout the week, excluding Sundays. Additionally, the church announced the open house dates and dedication plans for two other temples worldwide. “We want to bring temples closer to the expanding membership of the Church,” said President Russell M. Nelson as he announced the Layton Temple in the October 2018 general conference. The Church of Jesus Christ now has 350 houses of the Lord in operation, under construction or renovation, or announced worldwide. Beautiful decorative painting patterns consistent with the balance of the design elements in the temple are found throughout the temple.

The rich, saturated colors of the glass vibrantly enhance the building’s exterior at night and create a warm and inspiring interior during the day. The art glass designers were Holdman Studios of Lehi, Utah and HNWL Architects of Salt Lake City. Fabrication for the many windows was completed in the Holdman production facility located in Mexico. Visitors of all ages are invited to a free public open house held for most new or renovated temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The open house includes a video and a walk-through tour of the temple. After the temple is formally dedicated, entrance is reserved for faithful members of the Church.

After a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is built or has undergone an extensive renovation, it is opened for public tours prior to being dedicated or rededicated. After the dedication or rededication, Church members with temple recommends can enter to perform sacred ordinances. The temple sits on a beautiful slope between the mountains and the valley floor, with a beautiful mountain backdrop. The perimeter of the temple includes shade trees and common mountain zone plants and shrubs organically arranged. Closer to the temple the plants are more ornamental and formal, while the plaza area plants provide color during all seasons. Flowering Cherry and Redbud trees frame the view of the temple and the monument sign near the entrance.

The interior spaces of the temple also reflect the Art Nouveau style and include some of the same motifs found on the exterior, such as seedlings, leafy branches, and cherry blossoms. The millwork includes recessed details that were inspired by fruit tree blossoms and leaves. These are also found in pilasters, recommend desks, pew end panels, and altars. Organic curves were used to create the design of light fixtures and the decorative painting.

I have used it on my own home as well as many clients over the years and have never had anything but a great experience. One coat coverage works great if you are painting over a similar color, but I still usually go with two in most situations. It’s important to maintain the stucco or EIFS (also known as synthetic stucco) covering your home. The CertaPro Painters® team is knowledgeable in both repairs and painting related to these materials.

Forest Green and White

Different types of exterior paint are available for every part of your home’s exterior, including siding, fences, doors, gutters and more. This guide will discuss the paint qualities you should look for and help you determine the best outdoor paint for your home. Loved by many homeowners, beige goes equally well with the green of a healthy lawn or the trees of a more natural setting. Because it’s neutral, you can match beige with anything from darker shades of brown to the brightest hues on the color wheel.

While painting the house red can give it a whole new lease on life, keep in mind that you can also create a new mood with something as simple as changing the door color. Poulos also cautions that a lot of skill is involved, especially in using professional-grade paint sprayers on outdoor jobs. “All it takes is a little overspray on the neighbor’s new car or fence to make it worth hiring a pro,” he says. Deciding to paint your home is a personal choice that is affected by your willingness and ability to do the job. Next, a pro tapes off any features of the room that aren’t being painted, including doors, trim, hardware, and light switches. Gloss and semi-gloss paints do, however, produce a richer color, so they are sometimes chosen when an owner wants to make a loud design statement.

You can maximize the benefits of your exterior paint job by having repairs done as part of your painting project with CertaPro Painters®. Some common types of repairs we can help with include wood rot replacement, siding repairs / replacement, removing chipped / cracked paint, and patching of stucco surfaces. Red Brick + Navy Blue + White

Seafoam green is an expected exterior paint color for a beach house surrounded by sand, but this stunning blue-green home is tucked away in the trees. Its standout exterior color combination is a refreshing contrast to the forest foliage. White is a no-fail complementary color to any pastel hue and, when used on trim, delicately frames the house in its lush environment. The brick facade on this home was the inspiration for its color palette. The forest green color on the siding was drawn from the brick itself, and the white trim was chosen to brighten the exterior.

Meanwhile, two wood beams stained in a copper shade mark the boundaries of the entryway. Cool gray paint on the remaining exterior walls provides a neutral backdrop that lets the other colors do the talking. Timeless, crowd-pleasing colors like blue, yellow, red, or green are go-to exterior paint colors that add a hint of personality without stealing the show.

Wrapping Up the Best Exterior Paints

The rich camel tone shows up again to bring out the windows and entry door. Window frames in an eggplant hue sound a playful note and work with periwinkle blue details to add architectural interest to the plainly profiled abode. Take a close look at the roof shingles, and you'll see where the homeowners found the inspiration for this scheme's blue and purple accent tones. Use the trim brush to paint the trim and other details by hand.

Use the photo and video visualizers to "virtually" apply paint colors for a preview. Blue gray is a versatile color that would suit many home styles. With another color, like a bright white, you could highlight soffits (the underside of the eaves of the roof), door and window frames. For the trim, you could choose a third color to act as a contrast for the main color. This slightly shinier finish suits a humid/rainy area like Washington where there’s less sunlight and a greater risk for growing unwanted green stuff on your exterior walls.

The cost to paint brick homes is by far the highest, with a price range of $7,889 to $12,583. That's because brick requires special (and more expensive) masonry primer and brushes. Most local contractors will give free painting estimates, so get more than one quote to ensure you get the best price on your fresh coat of paint. If you’d rather not spend time and energy on a ladder outdoors painting your home, enter your ZIP code below to be contacted by a local painter. To estimate how many gallons of paint you’ll need for your exterior painting project, use the formula below. Some types of metal siding and brick may be easy to paint, but they can also be more expensive depending on the finish and number of coats needed.

While white trim is used on the walls and eaves, black trim can be found around the windows. A cobalt blue door creates a focal point amid an otherwise neutral exterior. When it comes to choosing the best exterior paint for your project, you want a paint job that’s going to last and be worth the time and money you sink into it!

Cracks are often caused naturally over time by settlement, but any significant gaps must be filled. You’ll need roughly five litres of masonry paint to cover 75 square metres of wall, but a second coat will halve the achievable coverage. We recommend choosing an exterior masonry paint that’s water-repellent and breathable. The old phrase ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ is particularly relevant when applying exterior paint.

So a stain is less likely to absorb from under your paint job and show through. If your home’s exterior has taken a bit of a beating from weather, pets, and/or kids, this paint will hide all the evidence better than most. Regal Select is a hybrid type paint meaning it is a 100% acrylic coating with alkyd technology, basically a water based paint with the performance of an oil. It will depend on several factors, but on average most homes need exterior painting done every 10 years. See our guide on how often to paint the exterior of your home for more information.

Additional Cost Considerations

It dries quickly (under an hour) and is both a paint and primer in one. Latex paint is water-based, making it the least toxic and easiest to clean. It also spreads very easily and dries quickly, making it ideal for large surfaces like exterior walls. Latex paints are also very popular because of their low cost and high availability. The paint is also exceptionally durable, thanks to its ability to expand and contract with the material underneath it. Latex paint sells for $20–$70 per gallon and is often available in 5-gallon buckets for larger painting projects.

Q. How do you choose exterior paint colors for your house?

The door's russet hue has orange undertones that allow it to stand out from the brown siding. Choosing light and dark shades of neutrals inspired by nature as exterior paint colors helps fashion an entrance that steps lightly on the landscape. Choosing exterior house colors when repainting your home is a big decision that will have daily consequences for years to come. There are three main areas of the home to consider when choosing exterior paint colors.

Forest Green and White

Then add subtle contrast with a distinct black, as designer Shazalynn Cavin Winfrey did for her Texas home by painting the windows and doors in Jet Black by Benjamin Moore. The former parsonage's terra-cotta details and surrounding greenery complete the inviting scene. The best exterior paint for your project can improve your home’s appearance while also protecting it from moisture, fading and temperature changes.

Seafoam Green + White

If you inadvertently damage the new paint surface while removing the protective materials, lightly patch it once it’s touch dry. If you’re unfortunate enough to get it on a windowsill or frame, check out our guide to removing paint from uPVC window frames. Cracking resistance, Handel adds, is the critical attribute for exterior paints and stains because cracks expose a home’s underlying siding or decking to water. This home has two different siding types, but a single color unifies them. The dark navy hides the textural differences, while white trim pops against the classic shade of blue. This quaint cottage is painted to be a dreamy and cozy getaway.

house paint exterior

CertaPro Painters® uses the process to remove mold, oil and old paint so new paint absorbs into your surface better. Because of its texture and need for more detail work, stucco painting costs more, between $6,428 to $10,253. Stucco also requires special expertise to prep its surface and gentle wash it (as opposed to power-washing) to maintain its structural integrity. What your home is made of impacts how much it costs to prep and paint it. The pitch and complexity of your home's architecture factor in as well.

Pale Blue + White + Black

Although you can paint your home exterior yourself, it’s usually a good idea to hire a professional. Experienced painters will create a more consistent final product, and they’ll finish the project faster. As a bonus, they can also take care of the extensive preparation and cleanup. The brand of the paint you choose can have a minor effect on pricing, though it affects your cost much less than your paint’s finish and type. However, some brands do tend to be cheaper than others if you’re looking to cut costs. The table below shows the average cost per foot to paint a home based on the type of siding it has.

Shades of Gray

These factors will help you narrow down which types of exterior paint will be the easiest to work with as you improve your home’s curb appeal. Once you’ve found the right paint, know exactly how much you'll need with our project calculators. Fresh paint can take your home from good to great, and there’s no better time for an exterior paint job than the warm months. While you might be willing and able to tackle an interior paint job, painting the outside of your home is typically reserved for professionals. Just as you would choose a wipeable finish for the interior, so too with your exterior.

(Plants will cook under plastic.) Lay more drop cloths along the base of the walls to collect any falling paint debris. If you don’t prepare the surface before painting, even the best exterior paint won’t look professional or last long. This calming color can give the outside of your home a relaxed feel. If cooler light grays appeal to you, balance them with other cool tones, like blues and greens.

This step is more important—and time intensive—than the actual painting. You might be surprised by how long your painters go before they actually take out brushes; prep work can easily take a week or more depending on your home's size and condition. But because paint adheres better to a smooth and well-prepared surface, getting the exterior walls and all the trim in good shape is worth it.

Another high-quality exterior paint is SuperPaint Exterior Acrylic Latex by Sherwin Williams. This Sherwin Williams paint is also available in over 100 colors and is mold- and mildew-resistant. It may seem counterintuitive to spend any money on a property that you’re saying good-bye to.

For example, if the fascia, eaves or trim are crumbling and in need of replacement, make these repairs first. Regular maintenance, occasional paint touch ups, cleaning and the use of primer and quality paint are factors that contribute to longer lasting exterior paint. Regular painting is also a necessary component of every home maintenance schedule. Bring a fairy-tale-like cottage in the woods to life through dovetail gray siding and glacial green accents. Artist Frances Schultz’s Bee Cottage in East Hampton, New York, is a prime example. The dark brown front door and landscaping (especially over the doorway!) enhance the dreamy locale.

What we absolutely loved about our room were the two full bathrooms. This is the most family-friendly amenity a hotel can offer! One was located inside the bedroom and the other off the living area. This was a much-appreciated design, especially for my teen daughter. Two bathrooms enabled us to avoid the typical morning backup.

The city center of Monterey is also a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Hofsas House is perfectly located a couple blocks away from the main downtown hub of Carmel-by-the-Sea. We really enjoyed being able to walk to the best selection of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. We have taken many roads up and down California’s famous Highway 1, but this was our first time staying in Carmel-by-the-Sea. This world renowned little beach town has been a popular vacation destination for many decades, and we finally got the opportunity to see why. Carmel is an exceptional destination on the Pacific Coastline because of its abundance of natural beauty and picturesque landscape.

Family-Friendly Lodging

This Summer we took a road trip up the California coast, seeing the sights and visiting colleges, and we stopped in Carmel-by-the-Sea for an overnight visit. This deli is just a quick 3 minute walk from Hofsas House and they have made-to-order sandwiches and yummy tamales. We picked up a picnic lunch and took it with us to Carmel Beach (scroll below to see photos). We travel as a little unit with our toddler daughter Scout. It’s necessary for us to have a refrigerator for her milk and baby food.

See what guests loved the most:

During our visit we explored both the Whaler’s Cove and the Cypress Grove South Shore. If you head in the direction of the Cypress Grove South Shore, there’s a long trail on top of the cliffs that gives you stunning oceans views. The trail is very well maintained and we had no problem pushing our stroller along the path. All of the seals and otters we saw were at the Cypress Grove Shore.

Not having to behave around other guests first thing is also helpful. The three other stories of the Hotel were built below street level against a hillside. There is plenty of off-street parking that can be accessed from San Carlos Street next to the office and from a driveway down to the ground level. All of the rooms have Dutch doors and with the top half open, the ocean breezes were lovely. Carmel-by-the-Sea has some unique ordinances to ensure the town maintains its non-commercial natural charm.

Besides the family history behind the hotel, it’s also a beautiful Bavarian-inspired inn with an artistic, European style. I love seeing the charming houses, many with beautiful flowers and landscaping. Carrie said the heated pool had been redone since our last visit but the weather was too cold and rainy to take a dip this time.

The Deli was jam-packed full of delicious options including a salad bar. We chose made-to-order sandwiches (turkey, tuna, and ham) and all were delicious. This is a great place to purchase picnic fixings for a day at the beach or parks. The fondue pot was filled with Gruyere, Emmenthaler, and Appenzeller cheese with roasted tomatoes and cream. We dipped bread, vegetables, and apples into a pot of gooey deliciousness. We had a fun evening filled with lots of laughter and a new fondue dining experience.

The property is perfectly located and had a great view of the ocean. The property is older and the rooms are decorated in a very eclectic style. We began with an appetizer of swiss pastry pastetli filled with three types of mushrooms and parmesan cheese.

California’s Most Charming Town

The Museum is a manageable size and fully ADA accessible with an elevator. 17-Mile Drive winds along the rugged and extraordinarily beautiful coast. We drove along the world-famous Pebble Beach golf course. There are many Points of Interest in which to stop and enjoy with plenty of parking.

When you pull up to Hofsas House, you will feel like you stumbled into a European Inn. Many of the rooms have ocean views above the treetops where the sunsets are magnificent, A walk to the beautiful beach is a pleasant stroll through town, about a half mile away. We found a bottle of wine and delicious cheese from The Cheese Shop Carmel waiting in our room. We visited this shop to purchase cheese and crackers to enjoy on our ride home. This was the first time my daughter visited a cheese specialty shop (not in a grocery store). After the long drive, we decided to pick up dinner and bring it back to the hotel.

Check out Yvonne’s very different take on Hofsas House and Carmel, Dog-Friendly Travel; Hofsas House in Carmel. We had a delicious hearty breakfast at Friar Tuck’s in Carmel the next morning, which is a great local joint, clearly a favorite of the residents. We sampled the Firecracker Shrimp, which was slightly spicy and really tasty, and some delicately fried zucchini and broccoli as appetizers. I had a refreshing arugula and beet salad for my main course and I loved it.

We love this fun entryway idea perfect for a rustic farmhouse or a shabby chic look. Even if you decide not to carve pumpkins, it doesn't mean you can't be creative with your pumpkin decor this year. Grab a paint brush and some paint and create fun designs instead of cutting into your pumpkins this year.

Look for more unique pumpkin decorations

After considering all the above factors, would you rather DIY your decorations or buy them? In the fall of 2020, The Home Depot’s 12-foot skeleton “Skelly” became the must-have Halloween decoration. Years later, this kooky novelty sculpture proved its staying power.

Whether you want to be the house all the kids flock to or prefer a more subtle approach, decorating can be a fun fall activity for the whole family. Look around your home first for things you can decorate into something scary. Bed sheets work for ghosts, and items from the thrift store are cheap and can be made into scary items. Cheap pumpkins can be carved, and keep a lookout for Halloween specials.

It may seem a little bit hard to do, but all you need to create this optical illusion is an old pair of shoes, stockings, a few pieces of craft paper, and a broomstick. To make this design easier, attach everything to a posterboard and then pin it to the wall with the help of hanging tape. To create a Goblin house for Halloween, make ghosts using bed sheets or plastic drop cloths. Create a Halloween tree with orange and black streamers, strings of orange lights, and homemade Halloween-themed ornaments.

If you’re crafty and good at sewing, consider making a festive DIY Halloween table runner as an easy way to decorate for the season. There’s lot of cute Halloween fabrics to use from various fabric stores. If you’re handy with a sewing machine, consider making a few DIY Halloween throw pillows to use around your living room or to decorate a bedroom for Halloween. Well Fibre has a great tutorial (including a pattern!) on how to make this cute ghost pillow out of faux Sherpa fabric. Alot of Halloween figurines lean toward the spooky or scary side.

Some jar candles will come in classic Halloween colors such as black, orange and purple. Others have Halloween style text on a more neutral background. Either way, you’re sure to find a Halloween jar candle that coordinates with the rest of your decor. There’s lots of different Halloween box signs to consider for your decor. I used a small, cheap box sign paired with Halloween flameless candles and some glitter ornaments grouped together on an orange tray.

Put all the spider parts together with black tape and attach to your spider webs. To up the scare factor, use large pieces of cardboard or black paper to cut out the silhouette of monsters, ghouls and other haunted figures. You’ll only need the outline of these creatures, so don’t worry about giving the characters too much detail.

Cut off any sharp edges on the shells to avoid injuries during handling. Then, glue on some glitter and sequins for extra sparkle and color, which looks fantastic in daylight or lit by batteries or candles at night. Starting from behind each eye slit, draw two thin triangles with chalk, then cut them out using scissors.

The Willows from JFI Productions has combined the haunted house and dinner theater experiences and elevated it to a new level. The part-interactive, part-theatrical performance experience takes place in a 10,000 square-foot mansion with a group limited to just 18 guests. Each session is two hours long and includes passed appetizers and drinks. The Willows is the brainchild of the people behind Creep LA and has become such a popular production and tickets sell out quickly every year. For one of the less spooky Halloween activities in Los Angeles on our list, Descanso Gardens will be lit up with hundreds of jack-o’-lanterns this fright night season. The Tunnel of Terror back to two locations this year, although it’s moving its Fontana operations to Lakewood.

Before beginning, gather a chandelier base, a string to hang the chandelier, black spray paint, black masking tape, and feathers. The color of the feathers doesn’t matter since you will be spraying them black anyway. Turn your house into a haven, a comfy nest & your favorite place to be. If you decorate your front porch, consider getting a Halloween door mat that fits in with your Halloween front porch decor. For a cute Halloween decor for home, go for Halloween door mats with playful characters, witty sayings and fun Halloween prints.

Finally, you can spray paint the skulls around the candlestick. It’s recommended since it’s a simple trick to cover the imperfections of the binding plaster. You can also add more heads to the candlesticks if they are tall enough. For this DIY project, you need plaster, a plastic or paper bowl, water, a plastic spoon, candlesticks, a skull mold, water, string, and spray paint.

There's something incredibly charming, but also a little spooky, about a stack of old books. Check out your local thrift store to find some great classics and set them out around the house. Instead of hanging up coats this year, give your witchy friends a place to park their brooms by hanging up old school broom heads from a peg rack.

You can buy wreaths like this premade from various sellers online. One of the cute ways to decorate for Halloween is to give you mantel a makeover using various Halloween decorations. Halloween figurines, taper candles, decorative bats as well as large & small Halloween trees all make the mantel a nice focal point for the room. Just fill one small bag with paper to create the body of the spider, and then cut another bag into long strips to make the spider’s legs.

You can buy throw pillows in different Halloween shapes such as ghosts, bats, pumpkins, etc. Some people get into collecting a certain type of figurine such as witches or ghosts. A large figurine collection is a great way to decorate a mantel, shelves or a China cabinet for the season. It can be fun to get out your favorite figurines from your seasonal decor storage area and find a new spot to place them each year. You can also use witch legs in a planter, flowerpot, large cauldron or sticking out of your front bushes! These mischievous Halloween decorations are a cute way to decorate around the house for Halloween.
